Christmas Wedding Inspo

December is here which means it’s officially Christmas time! The crazy busy summer wedding season has slowed down and many florists are going into hibernation.

But that doesn’t mean that weddings stop all together just because the snow starts falling! Many couples get married during the holiday season. Christmas weddings unfortunately have a slightly bad reputation for being cheap, unorganized, and poorly designed. It can be more difficult to design these wedding florals with many flowers out of season and harder to get. Many brides also find it difficult to bring the warm feel of Christmas into their wedding without making it too “themed” or just simply doing red flowers with pine accents.

But it doesn’t have to be that way! I decided to scour Pinterest and put together some inspiration for modern, moody, classic, and gorgeous Christmas inspired weddings. December weddings deserve all the creativity, design, and inspiration as summer weddings, don’t you think?

Here are some of my tips for making a Christmas inspired wedding that will wow.

• When choosing reds, make sure to use a mix of bright and dark red for more dimension

• Don’t be afraid to add pops of dark pink in the mix

• Using pine is a great way to add winter feels but also incorporate softer greens to bring in that bridal feel

• Fruit, fruit, fruit!

• If done correctly, using ornaments in your decor can level up that Christmas feel

• Lean into the whimsical, natural, and wild look that branches and greens give when allowed to just “do their thing”

• Choose a design style you love in another season’s florals and just recreate it with winter greens and florals

• Find the balance between cozy warmth and modern elegance
