Bud Vases: Dos & Don’ts
Bud vases are a hot trend right now in the floral world. They are a great way to add a simple pop of floral to any area at your event. They are often seen as a cheaper option to replace traditional centerpieces and are an easy way to upscale food/welcome/gift tables.
However, it’s important to make sure you are using bud vases in the right ways. While they have a place in budget wedding decor, they shouldn’t be seen as the answer to anything and everything. Here are a few of my dos and don’ts when it comes to decorating with bud vases.
DOS
Use them on cocktail tables to add a little something something without taking up too much roon
Mix them in with other decor ie: candle sticks, photos, votives, etc.
Group them together to give a bigger impact
Use them sparingly on food/welcome/gift tables where you don’t want to take up too much room but still want a pop of floral
Ask your florist how many you REALLY need if they are going to be the only floral on your guest tables
Mix up the vases to give a more eclectic look
DON’TS
Expect a handful of bud vases to give the same effect as a full centerpiece
Use them in large, empty spaces
Plan on getting the full look you want with a small budget (they add up if you want them to make an impact!)
Try to reuse them for a night before or day after your main event on your own (ask your florist for help if you want to do this)
I hope this gives a little more insight to the bud vase trend and how to use them to your advantage for your event! I’ll leave a few fun examples of bud vases from my past weddings, done right!
